Mobile Scratch

When the alpha version of Scratch 3.0, I immediately started testing it out on my iPad. I was so excited to have a mobile-friendly version available. I had originally hoped that extra sensing blocks that utilized the new range of inputs available to a mobile device would be incorporated. Without a keyboard or mouse, there are limited options for user input on a tablet. I decided not to let these limitations become obstacles but instead decided to see them as opportunities for creativity.

As an avid mobile gamer, I knew some of the strategies that developers used to trigger events and gather user input. My Mobile Scratch Studio is a collection of simple tutorial projects and mobile-friendly games. Each project has extensive comments so you can learn how to recreate the code, why it works, and ways to customize it. The projects are exceeding simple so that you can focus on the mechanics. The creativity is up to you.
